"New Technologies in Food Engineering" seminar to be held

Recently, upon acceptance and consent by the University Management Board and Faculty Science Council, the Faculty of Chemical and Food Engineering held the 1st seminar of academic year 2013 - 2014 with the theme "New technologies in Food Engineering".

Attending the seminar was People’s Teacher Dr. Do Huu Tai - Chairman of Trustees Board, Rector of LHU; Dr. Nguyen Huynh Bach Son Long - Dean of Chemical and Food Engineering Faculty, Chairman of the Council; Dr. Thai Xuan Du - Former Manager of Botanical Cells - Ho Chi Minh city Institute of Tropical Biology, Member of the Council; Dr. Pham Minh Quoc - Manger of Science and Technology of Massan company, Council Member, too; teachers and students of the University. The seminar also attracted the participation of some lecturers from other universities in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh city.

The seminars focused on the two contents namely University Learning Method and Application of Extrusion Technology in Food Engineering reported by Dr. Pham Minh Quoc and The prospects of PEF (Pulsed Electric Fields) Application in Food Preservation Technology presented by Bui Truong Dat, M.A.

During the seminar, the two speakers has presented their topics in turn. Their presentations has provided useful information as well as new knowledge, helping listeners learn more about new technologies in Food Engineering. The advantages of these topics has also been listed and applied in production. In addition, the keynote speakers shared their learning experience and keys lead to success in study at the event.

The first seminar of the school year 2013 - 2014 has successfully ended. It is hoped that more seminars will be organized in the coming time.
