LHU leaders honored as typical science and technology intellectuals

On May 19 evening, a special ceremony was held at Tran Bien Temple of Literature to celebrate the 124th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - 2014) and honor 2014 typical science and technology intellectuals.

Member of Central Standing Committee - Head of the Propaganda and Education Commission at Dong Nai Party Committee Huynh Van Toi; Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Minh Phuc and Nguyen Thanh Tri and  Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council Huynh Thi Nga attended the ceremony. Leading LHU's delegation was Rector Do Huu Tai, Vice Rector Nguyen Thi Thu Lan, Dean of Chemical and Food Engineering Nguyen Huynh Bach Son Long and Lecturer of Chemical and Food Engineering Nguyen Duc Thach.

On the occasion, the first time the Provincial People's Committee honored seven typical science and technology intellectuals across the province. Lac Hong University had three individuals who were honored at the ceremony for their outstanding contributions to research activities, science and technology activities and education development. They were LHU People's Teacher Dr. Do Huu Tai - Former Deputy Director of provincial Department of Education and Training -Vice Secretary of Party Committee - Chairman of the Trustees Board - Rector; Meritorious Teacher Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan - Chairwoman of provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations -Vice Rector and Dr. Nguyen Duc Thach - Former Chairman of provincial Chemical Association - Lecturer of Chemical and Food Engineering Faculty. The four others were Meritorious Doctor Ngo Duc De - Head of General Surgical Ward of Dong Nai General Hospital; People's Teacher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Hoang - Director of Phuong Nam Science and Technology Institute; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Sang - Director of Science and Technology Department and Dr. Huynh Van Toi - Head of the Propaganda and Education Commission at Dong Nai Party Committee.
