A ceremony to commemorate teachers held

In the morning of February 12 (the third day of Tet), Bien Hoa city People’s Committee held a solemn ceremony at Tran Bien Temple of Literature to commemorate and honor devoted teachers.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai province’s Party Committee Le Hong Phuong, Chairman and Vice Chairman of  Dong Nai province’s People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai and Nguyen Thanh Tri, Vice Chairwoman of People’s Council Huynh Thi Nga, the university's Secretary of the Party Committee Nguyen Trung Phuong, Vice Rector Dr. Diep Cam Thu, Head and Deputy Head of the Department of Students’ Affairs Nguyen Ho Xuan Huong and Vu Van Tuan, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union Le Son Quang and Tran Hoang Minh,  representatives from departments, agencies, and a great number of teachers and students cross the province.

According to our traditional custom, “the First Day is Father’s Tet, the Second Day is Mother’s Tet and the Third Day is Teacher’s Tet”. The tradition “The third day of Tet is for teachers” has been a cultural beauty of Vietnamese, reminding us of, in the first three days of the year, besides merit of parents, education role of teachers.

At the ceremony, the participants offered flowers and burnt incense to worship predecessors and honor devoted teachers.

Teacher’s Tet is annually held at Tran Bien Temple of Literature by Bien Hoa city People’s Committee, contributing to conserve and  raise high the tradition “be deferential to teacher and respected for moral” in the spirit life of people, especially the young generations of Dong Nai province in particular and the nation in general.
