8 teams from LHU to participate in regional qualifying round of Robocon Vietnam 2013 contest

The regional qualifying round of Robocon Vietnam 2013 was kicked off at Rach Mieu Sports House, Hoa Phuong street, Phu Nhuan district, HCM City on April 5. Attending the opening ceremony was leaders of Vietnam Television, of the Ministry of Education and Training, of Toyota Vietnam Co., of universities and colleges in the South, robocon teams and a large number of supporters.  The opening ceremony and competitions will be broadcast live on VTV 9.

Participating in the qualifying round was 48 teams from universities and colleges in the southern region, divided in to 12 tables. The best 10 teams of the region will compete in the final round which will be held in May in Da Nang city. The final round with the theme “The Green Planet” will see the participation of 32 teams selected from qualifying rounds in three areas over the country, North, South and Central. 

This year, there are 8 teams from Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University participating in the regional qualifying round, less than 4 teams last year. The aim of the University is to continue to retain the champion title for the fourth consecutive year at Robocon Vietnam and win the top of ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2013 to be held in Da Nang, Vietnam.
