LHU to welcome Gachon University delegation

In the morning of June 26, a meeting was held to welcome a delegation from Gachon University led by Assoc. Prof. Choi Kyoung Jin  accompanying with Chairman of Global Hope Association in Vietnam Kim Kwang Kyun, representative of International Relations Choi Su Kyoung and 20 students of Gachon University.

The delegation was welcomed by Vice Rector Dr. Nguyen Van Nam, Dean of Oriental Studies Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Luong, representatives of International Relations, Youth Union, Student Association, Student Affairs, Dormitory Management Board, lecturers, staff and students of Korean Studies. The delegation will stay at LHU dormitory and take part in exchange activities with Korean Studies students from June 25 to July 2. This is a good chance for LHU students, especially those who are studying Korean language to communicate and exchange culture with native. This also creates a good premise for a long-term cooperation relation between LHU and Gachon University.

Gachon is a big university located in Seongnam, Korea with more than 30 years old. In 2011, the University operated based on the mergence between Gachon University of Medicine and Science and Kyungwon University - the two famous ones in training quality. Gachon University aims to become a one of ten global excellent universities by 2020.

On the occasion, Mr. Kim Kwang Kyun on behalf of Global Hope handed over the cheque worth VND 200 million to Dean of LHU's Oriental Studies Faculty for the development of the Korean Resources room.

The welcoming ceremony was the first activity in a series of exchange programs which will be held during the week at LHU. It is hoped that cultural exchange programs will bring LHU students opportunities to learn and improve further and the relationship between the two sides will be closer and stronger.
