LHU students commended for saving three girls from drowning

In the afternoon of August 21, Chairwoman of Buu Long ward People's Committee Le Thi Thu Tam said, on August 20 at the head office, quarter 4, Buu Long ward commended 4 students of LHU for their saving three girls’ lives from drowning on August 16. The same day's afternoon, the provincial Emulation and Commendation Board met the four students namely Lang Van Thin, Nguyen Thanh Hoang, Pham Quoc Lai and Bui Quang Vinh to verify the fact, and also propose the provincial People's Committee to commend them.

Ms Tam added the Buu Long ward commended and presented VND 170 thousand each as prescribed. She expressed her wish that the Bien Hoa city and provincial People’s Committees will soon appropriately commend four individuals for their bravery after saving three girls from drowning.

The same day, the University made a decision to unexpectedly commend four brave students.

This morning, on the occasion of closing ceremony of green summer activities 2013, the University awarded certificates of merit and VND 1 million each to the four students. 

The honorees (from left) included Thin, Thanh, Lai and Vinh.

Vinh pointed the place where the three girls were rescued and one unfortunately lost her life.
