Seminar on “Writing lectures based on high quality output standards”
Building from an output standard to a high quality one is an advance of Lac Hong University in standardizing and upgrading the training program and its quality. To make the output standard really a high quality, the school has promoted a movement to write lectures in accordance with high quality output standards. On 9 May 2011, seminar on “Writing lectures based on high quality output standards” took place with the participation of all of the lecturers and staff.
Starting at the same time with the plan to build a high quality output standard, the plan to write lectures based on it has been studied and promoted by the Training Department from the previous year and officially launched from this semester. With a specific plan and detailed instructions, the participants can understand the requirements of lecture writing based on new standards.
Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Tran Hanh said compared with universities with age – old history, experienced teaching staff and standardized curricular, a private school like Lac Hong cannot gain such values overnight. Writing lectures based on high quality output standard is a way to enhance lecturers’ teaching knowledge and skills meeting school’s training needs. He has also emphasized the only way for school’s teaching quality to improve, meeting the social needs is to build syllabuses innovatively. At the seminar, he has officially launched the movement in the whole school. He hopes that up to 2012 – the fifteenth anniversary of the school foundation, we will have an exhibition of products – lectures with high quality output criteria.
In addition, Dr. Nguyen Van Tan – Head of Department of Scientific Research - Postgraduate - Quality Inspection has introduced a material source on website www.library.nu and given detailed instructions on how to search and take the materials so that lecturers can refer. He also expects that knowing this website, teachers not only store the materials serving their teaching but also contribute their own materials to make the school’s library more diverse.
For teachers to have a visual look, after Mr. Ho Vien Phuong instructed them how to present the lectures based on the school’s criteria, the Organization Board has shown sample lectures of four representatives of Departments of Business Administration and International Trade, Accounting- Auditing, Basic and Mechatronic and Electrical. After referring them, teachers have discussed and given some suggestions to the samples.
Following this seminar, teachers will begin to write lectures based on high quality output standards. According to statistics of the Training Department, 145 subjects in the second semester of 2010 – 2011 will be compiled.
The seminar has attracted the participation of a lot of lecturers and staff in the school.
