A ceremony to report achievements held at Tran Bien Temple of Literature
A solemn ceremony was held on September 13 at Tran Bien Temple of Literature in Dong Nai province to honor Lac Hong University for its achievement at the 2011 ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest held in Thailand on August 28. Robot contest is a technology playground which has marked Lac Hong students’ creativity and success for many successive years. Robocon Lac Hong has won the championship title at Robocon Vietnam for the second time. Though it has not won the championship title in the 2011 Asia-Pacific Robot Contest, it receives the great interest from Dong Nai provincial leadership and university’s leaders.
The ceremony was attended by Permanent member of Dong Nai Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri and representatives from departments and agencies in the province, Rector of Lac Hong University Dr. Tran Hanh and representatives from university’s units.
At the honoring ceremony, provincial leaders, university’s leaders, and Robocon team offered incense at Temple of Confucius and Bai Duong of Tran Bien Temple of Literature. Dr. Dang Duy So - chief of Vietnam Robocon delegation reported activities and achievements of Robocon team in the contest held in Thailand this year. Thanks to its solidarity, situation handling skill, and good technique as a strong point, Lac Hong's Robocon team took third place and Toyota prize in the 2011 Asia-Pacific Robot Contest.
Also at the event, the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to 14 members of Robocon delegation. Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Tri acknowledged achievements of Lac Hong University in the national and international robot contests over the past two years. Hopefully, members of Lac Hong University will continue their efforts to further promote their strengths to be able to create breakthroughs in Robocon area as well as in research activities and technology transfer,… to deserve as a prestigious training unit in Dong Nai province.
