Working on technology transfer with Taekwang Vina JS Co.,’s Branch

A LHU’s delegation led by Vice Rector Lam Thanh Hien, M.A had a working session with Manager of R & D Department Steve Moon in the morning of April 18 at Taekwang Vina JS Co.,’s Branch. Accompanying with the delegation was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Rector’s counselor, Ho Vien Phuong, M.A – Deputy Manager of Academic Affairs, Pham Van Toan, M.A -  Vice Dean of Electronics Mechanics, Le Hoang Anh, M.A – Vice Dean of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Do Sy Truong – Deputy Director of Foreign Languages and Informatics Centre and some related teachers.

“Training, research and technology transfer according to enterprises’ needs” has become one of the standards to evaluate the brand name of LHU. After successful technology transfer to Sea Vietnam Co., Nectokin Vietnam Co., Changsin Vietnam Co.,… engineer staff have received a lot of praise from partners, bringing more research opportunities and applying technology products into businesses inside and outside the province.

The working session has opened a good chance for a long cooperation relation between LHU and Taekwang Vina JS Co.,’s Branch. At the working session, the two sides discussed the product “intelligent goods transporting truck”. This is a labor and time saving product. The partner also offered some suggestions as well as requirements for the product.

In 1994, Taekwang Co. began to invest in Vietnam and founded Taekwang Vina JS Co.,’s Branch. The main product of the company is Nike sports shoes. The company has 100% investment capital of Korea. It has about 23,000 staff and branches in My Tho, Moc Bai (Tay Ninh province), VT2, VT3 (Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province). In 2010, the company established the third factory in Moc Bai, Tay Ninh. Taekwang Co. was recognized as a successful enterprise, ranking the 18th among 200 businesses in 2005, greatly contributing to the economic development of Vietnam.

Cooperation between the University and Taekwang Co also offers students many career opportunities. The company expressed its hope that the University would introduce excellent students who can take over the engineer’s roles, Korean translators and well as interpreters to work for it.

Hopefully, the cooperative relation between the two sides will be closer and stronger, helping to widen the brand name and increase education prestige of the University.
