Presenting charitable houses to the poor

Morning of November 13^th, 2010, at an address No 13 / 6 Quarter 2, Buu Long Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province, the ceremony of presenting a charitable house to Mr Ha Van Tri took place. This is the house donated by the Union, Union - Student Association, Union Branch and Charity Branch of Lac Hong University with a total amount of nearly 60 million VNDs.

Attending the ceremony, as for Lac Hong University, there was presence of Dr. Tran Hanh - Rector, Diep Cam Thu, M.A - Vice Rector, Chairman of the school’s Union, Ms. Ho Thi Hai Yen - Deputy Head of Women's Affairs, Mr. Chau Quang Trang- Head of Equipment Administration Office, Nguyen Ho Xuan Huong, M.A,  - Head of Student Affairs, Ms. Le Thi Hieu – Head of Dormitory Management Board, Mr. Le Quang Son - Secretary of the Union and representatives of Departments and Centers.

On behalf of the government leaders, there was attendance of Ms. Le Thi Thu Tam – Chairwoman of Buu Long Ward People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong - Vice Chairman and Buu Long Ward’s leaders of Departments and Organizations. Thanh Nien Newspaper and Dong Nai Newspaper together with Dong Nai Radio and Television also attended the ceremony.

After reading the decision from the local authority, Dr. Tran Hanh has presented the house to Mr. Ha Van Tri. In that particular moment, Mr. Ha Van Tri was touched and thanked the Management Board of Lac Hong University as well as the local authority for giving him a house. His 62-year dream has come true.

In addition, Departments and Centers of the school offered Mr. Ha Van Tri their small gifts.

Mr. Ha Van Tri (also known as Mr Nguyen Van Cua) is a son of martyr Mr Nguyen Van Sang residing at No 13 / 6 Quarter 2, Buu Long Ward, Bien Hoa City. Mr. Ha Van Tri, 62 years old is living alone without his wife and children, earning his living by trading in old books and newspapers, currently living in a temporarily covered and small room next to the house of his relative. He wishes to have a house to shelter from the rain and the sun, to deal in old books, also to have a place of reading books free for poor children around the region.

Having a very difficult circumstance, but he is kind-hearted and also the son of a revolutionary fighter, deserving the community’s help, so Organizations of Lac Hong University decided to raise money to build the house.

This is an act of the spirit "leaves protect tattered ones", “when drinking water, remember the source”  of the staff and students of Lac Hong University, which will also educate Union members throughout the school to be responsible for the community, care, and share difficulties with the local people.
