Tran Hanh Prize awarding ceremony 2011 held in Quang Tri province

On July 27, 2011, Lac Hong University, Department of Education and Training, Quang Tri provincial Study Promotion Association organized a ceremony to award  Tran Hanh Prize worth a total of VND 500 million to Quang Tri province’s outstanding students.

 

Attending the ceremony was founder of the Tran Hanh Prize Dr. Tran Hanh – Rector of Lac Hong University and the participation of 10 leaders of departments and 22 green summer volunteers 2011.

 

In addition, there was the present of Quang Tri province’s leaders (Provincial Committee of the Party, People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee), leader of Department of Education and Training and leader of Study Promotion Association. The event also attracted the participation of press agencies (Tien Phong newspaper – the main news sponsor, Lao Dong newspaper, Quang Tri newspaper - representative of Viet Nam News Agency, Tuoi Tre newspaper, People newspaper, Agriculture and Rural Development newspaper, Dan Tri newspaper, VTV Television and Quang Tri Radio and Television and 213 scholarship receivers and long-term sponsors.

 

Tran Hanh Prize will be annually awarded to Quang Tri’s students who obtain high prizes in outstanding students' competitions at national and provincial levels, typical students at high schools and sponsor students who live in especially difficult circumstances but make great efforts to overcome difficulties to study well.

 

At the ceremony, Dr. Tran Hanh has awarded the scholarship totaling VND 500 million to students. Until 2011, he has donated more than VND4 billion for study promotion activities in Quang Tri province.

 

This is a meaningful gift presented by Dr. Tran Hanh – Rector of Dong Nai - based Lac Hong University, a child of Quang Tri home town in order to assist and encourage outstanding students and students with difficult circumstances to continue their efforts to study well.

 

Also at the event, Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee presented the campaign medal “For Study Promotion” to Dr.Tran Hanh for his valuable contributions to the provincial study promotion.

 

Before attending the scholarship awarding ceremony, Dr. Tran Hanh leaded the school delegation and robocon team 2011 to visit Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery, the Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery, Quang Tri ancient wall, Thach Han wharf to offer incenses to commemorate fallen heroic martyrs for the national independence . Besides, the delegation attended the press conference introducing Tran Hanh Prize and took part in exchanges with QTV invited guests held by the Study Promotion Association of Quang Tri provincial Radio and Television.
